Featuring nearly 2,000 Prince George County Public Schools students participating in at least one arts discipline, this year's Spring Fling drew thousands of people and community members to Prince George High School for the district's biggest arts event of the year.

The event tied in closely with the nationally recognized Read Across America Week, as well as South Elementary School's extremely popular annual read-a-thon reading celebration, while giving students an opportunity to chat with the author of a book series they're currently reading.

A longtime advocate for education and literacy, Del. Coyner's special visit and pair of reading sessions coincided with the nationally recognized 'Read Across America Week.'

Tying into the curriculum of Family & Consumer Science, the students were able to see professional chefs from around the world showcase their skills through the medium of food, including intricate plating and garnishing techniques, and more during the 49th Annual Joint Culinary Training Exercise event at Fort Gregg-Adams.
