A tradition for J.E.J. Moore Middle School and the Prince George community continued as the school held its annual Memorial Day Tribute Thursday morning in the school's memorial gardens.

During the Monday, May 13, 2024, Prince George County School Board regular business meeting, Ella Iles, Taylor Moody, Cailyn Pfost, and Kileigh Sturt were celebrated as part of the district's third cohort of Future Teacher Pipeline students. The program allows aspiring educators to return to Prince George County to teach upon completing their post-secondary studies.

Hosted by Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, the art competition allowed students from across the Fourth Congressional District to enter pieces across several categories for consideration.

With a backdrop of National Teacher Appreciation Week, soon-to-be-graduates on the high school's varsity cheerleading squad took time to offer a heartfelt thank you to some of their teachers as graduation approaches.

The physicals will cost $20 (cash only), and student-athletes and parents are asked to bring their VHSL physical forms with them, with the student/parent portions completed and the form signed. Incomplete forms will not be accepted.

During the New York Heritage Festival in early April, the chorus' Chamber Singers (SATB mixed ensemble) placed first in the Chamber Choir category, and the Treble Chorale (SSAA high-voice ensemble) placed first in the Unisex category. Additionally, both ensembles received the Adjudicators Choice Award for earning a score of 95 or higher from each of the festival's three adjudicators.

Each school's delegation participated in a diverse assortment of activities at this year's event, with each event staffed by student and adult volunteers, including players and coaches from the high school's football, soccer, baseball, and softball teams.

Farm Day gives students the opportunity to engage with a multi-million dollar local industry in their own backyard, while delivering engaging experiences that align with Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) science-related objectives
