The Transportation Department of Prince George County Public Schools plays a vital role in the daily lives of thousands of students, thanks to its exceptional team of bus and vehicle drivers. Each day, these dedicated professionals ensure that students are safely transported to and from schools as well as various activities throughout Prince George County and the surrounding region. Our commitment to safety remains our number one top priority.
In the 2023-24 school year, Prince George County Public Schools yellow school buses and other student transport vehicles carried an average of 4,021 passengers per day, utilizing 88 buses and 20 vehicles that traveled over 1.1 million miles, connecting what matters.

PGCPS Celebrates LOVE THE BUS MONTH This February
Prince George County Public Schools celebrates the iconic yellow school bus during The National Association for Pupil Transportation's 'Love The Bus Month,' celebrated each February.
By celebrating and honoring the yellow school bus and its drivers, we reinforce our commitment to nurturing safe and inclusive educational journeys for every student. In doing so, we ensure that this cherished tradition remains a cornerstone of our communities, driving forward with pride and purpose.

2024-25 Transportation Request
Students are assigned to buses according to their home address. Parents who wish for their child to ride to or from an alternate address need to submit a transportation request using the form provided on this page. Please allow up to three days to process the request. Deadline for these requests will be August 2, 2024.
