During the Prince George School Board's regular meeting on Monday, September 11, 2023, Mr. Powell, the high school’s social media and digital media marketing class, and Mr. Covil were recognized by school board members and the district's leadership for their commitment to showcasing Prince George County Public Schools and topics related to public education through their platforms.

As students returned to class to begin the 2023-24 School Year Monday morning, Dr. Coons, VDOE Chief of Staff Dr. Jeremy Raley, and district leadership spent time with students and staff, welcoming them back to school with encouraging messages while learning about PGCPS' programs and initiatives.

The day-long event was born out of a desire to give new and returning teachers valuable information and resources ahead of the upcoming school year focused on topics of interest to educators.
