Prince George County Public Schools, in partnership with The James River Junior Woman's Club, a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, hosted the division's second annual Storybook Character Day Drive-Thru Parade, providing the community's Pre-K-5 students a safe and fun fall event!
Prince George High School and the campus' bus loop served as host of the event for a second year, with hundreds of children and their families driving through the line over during the early evening event.
Division staff volunteered their time and donned costumes ranging from Disney-inspired favorites to the world of Harry Potter as they passed out hundreds of treat bags to children. Elementary schools joined in the fun earlier in the day as students, teachers, staff, and even Central Office staff dressed up to make Storybook Character Day fun for students!
We appreciate the support of The James River Junior Woman's Club and our community for their donations of candy and other treats for the hundreds of treat bags distributed during Thursday's event. We thank our staff and everyone who volunteered their time to hand out candy and manage tables, and we thank the Prince George Police Department for managing traffic flow into and out of the event!
