Prince George County Public Schools and the Prince George County School Board recently recognized three businesses and organizations - The Cameron Foundation, The Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Roma Ristorante Italiano - for their strong support of our district's schools and programs by naming them to the Virginia School Boards Association's (VSBA) Business Honor Roll. Over the past nearly ten years, the Business Honor has given school divisions a way to thank local businesses and community organizations for their valuable contributions to local schools.
On Monday, May 12, 2025, the Prince George County School Board invited representatives from each business and organization to be recognized for their support of the division's students and programs.
The Cameron Foundation
As part of their mission, The Cameron Foundation strives to transform the Tri-Cities and surrounding counties into a healthy, vibrant, and economically vital region by strategically leveraging resources for community impact. Over the last year, the organization donated $16,000 to Prince George County Public Schools in the form of a grant to help reimburse the cost of courses taken by the division's provisionally licensed teachers and the cost of licensure application fees.
The Fraternal Order of Eagles
While they are an international nonprofit known around the world, the Fraternal Order of Eagles' impact locally is seen through their charitable actions within our community. Recently, the Fraternal Order of Eagles donated $5,000 to benefit several programs within Prince George High School - the school's athletics program, and the award-winning band and chorus.
Roma Ristorante Italiano
A short drive from the border of Prince George County, Roma Ristorante Italiano along U.S. Route 460 and its owners, the Ingargiola Family, always find ways to support and elevate the Prince George County Public Schools community through their business. Throughout the year, the restaurant regularly offers generous discounts on orders to support PGCPS teachers and events, and has provided lunch for faculty and staff at our schools on special occasions and events. Additionally, they have hosted "spirit night" events at their Petersburg restaurant, donating a percentage of their profits to benefit school initiatives.

"The businesses and organizations recognized on the VSBA's Business Honor Roll have played a meaningful role in enhancing the experiences of our students and enriching the programs offered by Prince George County Public Schools,” Division Superintendent Dr. Wayne Lyle shared. “Through their generous volunteer efforts and donations of goods and services, they support not only our schools but the broader Prince George County community. We are truly grateful for their contributions and believe they embody the spirit and values of the VSBA's Business Honor Roll Program."
As noted by the VSBA, Businesses large and small, corporate-owned or family-run, play a key role in supporting our communities and local schools. They contribute to our school divisions in many ways, including helping schools with in-kind or financial contributions, donating to scholarship programs, supporting extracurricular activities, offering internship opportunities, volunteering in the schools, and sponsoring field trips.
The Cameron Foundation, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Roma Ristorante Italiano will be honored alongside businesses and organizations from across the commonwealth when the VSBA publishes its annual Business Honor Roll in its newsletter later this year. These businesses join several other companies and organizations PGCPS and the Prince George County School Board have recognized since the VSBA Business Honor Roll's inception. These include: VCU Health Sports Medicine, Cintas First Aid and Safety, James River Junior Woman's Club, Unity Baptist Church, Rams Petroleum, Loyalty Automotive, Oakland Baptist Church, and Unity Baptist Church.
